Clapham is situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is often revered to as "The Jewel Of The Dales", with its unique tree lined riverside, with the Clapham Beck silently gliding around the rocks. There are many walks starting either in or very close to Clapham. It is an ideal base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales, and is only 30 minutes drive from Windermere in the Lake District. The charm of Clapham is its unspoilt character. We are situated in the heart of the village, within 250 metres of the local Inn and village shops. |

Other information: Arbutus Guest House was originally the Clapham village Vicarage until it was tastefully converted into a guesthouse in 1985. It was built in 1835, and is an excellent example of Georgian architecture. The bedrooms are all well proportioned and the comfortable residents lounge with roaring log fire are a "welcome to the eyes", after a day out walking or just exploring the locality. We are open all the year round including Christmas and New Year. We also have a ground floor en suite room which is available during part of the year. A discount of £1.50 per night when staying 3 or more nights. Please call to check on prices, as we regularly offer special weekend packages and seasonal deals.
