| The traditional front bar remains unaltered and retains its original
flagstone floor and deep inglenook fireplace. Bedrooms, kitchen and dining
facilities have all been sympathetically refurbished. Chef proprietor Reg
Ambrose devises creative menus that suit all. Much fresh fish direct from
Brixham market and local game is featured. Popular dishes are king scallops
with hot garlic butter, Cornish mussels with white wine, garlic & cream.
John Dory fillets with teriyaki stir-fry vegetables, also braised local pheasant
with smoked bacon and field mushrooms. In addition you will have no problem
ordering a simple sandwich or jacket potato. After much determination and perseverance the Ambroses have created a peaceful south-facing garden with the most delightful terrace, ideal for a quiet drink and to take in what can only be described as one of the most beautiful located privately owned Inns. |
