It is also just 12 miles from the world heritage city of Bath, 6 miles from J17 of the M4 and 2 hours from London. Salisbury, the coast and the Cotswolds are all within a one hour drive.

From the M4 take Junction 17 onto the A350 towards Chippenham and Melksham. Turn left from the A350 into Lacock village (signposted Lacock). Go past the George pub on your left and up the hill for 100m, The Old Rectory is on your left.

Built in 1866, The Old Rectory is a superb example of Victorian gothic architecture. Now a delightful family home set in it's own grounds with croquet lawn and tennis court, it offers a real taste of English country life. Beyond the stables are fields and footpaths leading to the mediaeval village of Lacock.

The Rectory offers large elegant bedrooms (two with four poster beds). In the quaint dining room a full English or continental breakfast is served.
